consequences of bullies to the student

Salam.... Rashidah here...This is my time to elaborate this topic.... My topic is about effect of bullying to the student... so that all of us know about the bullying of students can become negative effects that may affect the psychological development of children or teenagers.
Effect of bully can divide into two which is who become a victim and who become the bullies.

1. Effect to the bullies.

• bullies are sometimes viewed positively by their peers, they rarely are capable of maintaining close friendships. It is because their peer may be busy with the criminal activities and another student feared to close to them. Even as an observers of bullying which is students who see bullying happen also may feel that they are in an unsafe environment.
• they are usually not doing well in school and not well liked by their teachers. So, that their performance in the exam will down.
• for the long term effect, bullies when adult, likely will become criminals and acting aggressive such as become a robbery, theft, and may be if the bullies become a corporate person, he may be become a cheater to his client or maybe he doing corruption to get project.

2. Effects to the student who being a victim.

• give more effect to the mental of the student. The stress from being bullied can create problems for children at school. They seem afraid to be in quiet place or attending school because afraid to being a bullied.
• fear and anxiety can make it difficult for the child to focus and engage in the classroom and making learning that much more difficult. They often fear and worry every time they are at school. This makes them to engage in the learning process
• these student will lack of confidence level, they will let themselves be treated anything and become a severe person, willing to do something by felicitate others and so forth. In most cases, children who have been bullied may actually lack social skills to make friends with other children in comfort. Often, victims of bullying feel awkward to socialize with others, and this discomfort becomes severe when they bullied. It is a cycle that is difficult stopped by the victim where they have opportunities to interact with peers is another level because this level is important for their development.
• extreme victims can develop depression or physical illness.
• for long term consequences of being a victim sometimes vary a good deal. Most victims of bullying do well in school and are able to make friends are they grow older. Most victims, especially if they receive support from adults important in their lives, survive the experience of being bullied without long term effects.
• for negative impact for long term effect, the bullied may be will avenge the others

Salam .. Me again ...:)
This time I want to share about the effects of bullying behavior quoted from several past studies. I admit to what Rashidah say. Based on past studies, bullying behavior showed a significant effect on the schooling period. It creates situations bullying and bullying among students. For me, there is truth if bullying behavior often cited as an contributor to violent behavior in schools. This is also recognized by the Boatwright, Mathis, and Smith-Rex, 2000; Olwes, 1991, 1993; Rigby, 1996 and Shakesshaft et al., 1995). According to Ma et al., 2001, the acts of bullying in schools has a profound influence and impact on students, and usually leads to violence and disaster to the poor and victims of bullying the bully. Bullying is a subset of aggressive identified as problems that could impact the physical and psychological health of individuals who often bullied, and also to those who bully their peers during young age (Batsche and Knoff, 1994).
Effects of bullying behavior can lead to the most harmful level. Bullies and victims of bullying their visits will experience a variety of social and behavioral problems such as social exclusion and failure in learning. Acts of bullying may impact on the environment of member schools and directly involve the inability of students to obtain the optimum learning and teaching in schools. Effects more accepted by the bullies and victims of bullying.
Okay la .. Find more .. Hopefully what I'll say this reinforces the statement about the effects of bullying behavior on the bullies and bully victims .. Salam ...

i agree with both of you about the consequences of bullying.I'd like to begin by saying that this bullying will give deep impact to the victim of bully.the victim feel alone because their friend think they are weak.this situation will make the victim have more depression.this also can cause the victim tends to experience anxiety, self hate and prefer to stay at home from go to school because they worried about their security(Berthold and Hoover.2000).they can not concentrate on their work and assignment at school(Mellor,1991).They also act do not want to go school(Reid,1989).In addition, victims of bullying have a big pressure.Bullied experienced will lead to the emotional problems such as a larger decrease of esteem. The victims blame themselves as the social failure. They feel angry and lost their dignity. This is some information that i can share with you.

Salam, first of all, I want to say thank to Dayah Rosni and Syamsuri because comment in my part and I appreciate their comment. Here I want to add some information about this part which is effect of bullying to student. Actually, the age at which kids first fall victim to bullying could influence how strongly they are affected, suggests a new study. And, surprisingly, it is not the youngest kids who are hurt the most in the long term. Bullying can have long-lasting effects, but particularly when it begins in adolescence, the researchers say. People subjected to either verbal or physical bullying are known to be at greater risk for developing depression, anxiety disorders or to behave violently. But not everyone reacts in this way.
Children bullied for the first time before they hit puberty seem to get over it, but those who are victimized for the first time late on in puberty seem to become more aggressive or are more likely to turn to drink as a means of coping. These are the conclusions of psychologist Matthew Newman and colleagues from the University of Texas at Austin, US. The team gave questionnaires to nearly 1500 college students regarding their experience of physical and psychological bullying before puberty before high school and in late puberty at high school. They assessed mood and mental state, judging by signs of anxiety or depression, such as sleeplessness. The group was also questioned about how they would react to certain challenges, such as being humiliated or provoked.
People who were bullied all revealed slightly higher levels of stress. But while those bullied earlier in life seemed to respond normally to provocation, people bullied for the first time late in puberty are more withdrawn and sensitive to violence. There are also sex differences between those bullied for the first time during puberty, with females more likely to react aggressively when provoked and males are much more likely to turn to alcohol to escape bad situations. Actually, I just read this article in http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn6600-effects-of-bullying-worse-for-teens.html. For more information, you can log on in this website. Bye...

hye.. how r u my friends?? hopefully everything going well..
i'm have a good mood today, and i'm love to share with you all about what i'm found just right now..
According to an Intervention in School and Clinic report, there are short and long-term consequences for both perpetrators and victims of bullying. Adults who were chronically victimized in their youth are at an increased risk for clinical depression, low self-esteem and other mental health problems. Children bullied over long periods may develop symptoms similar to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including hyper-alertness and being easily startled or emotionally distant.
Short-term effects of bullying at school include aggression with siblings, anxiety, stress and insomnia. Other characteristics may include self-isolation, mood swings and physical manifestations such as cuts or bruises. Childhood bullying and abuse may cause problems later in life that are difficult to overcome without the help of intensive therapy and treatment, leading clinicians and professionals to try and understand bullying's root causes.
Mental healthcare professionals have sought to find out why youth become bullies to begin with. Youth with low self-esteem may intimidate others to gain a sense of power or control. Girls with self-confidence or other personality issues may bully their peers out of jealousy, resentment or because other girls are doing it.
see my friends, how bullies cases give the bad effect to the student!!
that why i think that we should discuss about how prevent it seriously..

salam dayah here...i just want to add something about the effects of bullies..There are also cases where the tragic victims of bullying has been decided that the only way to stop their suffering is to kill themselves. Studies have been done until now, has shown that there is a connection between bullying and ideas to kill themselves...so bullied can effects victims to kill themselve because they fell afraid and can not face the bully...

salam...dayah mohd again..based on my reading,in emotional, victims who were bullied often fear and worry every time they are at school. This makes them to engage in the learning process. Due to the overwhelming fear, the victim will truancy to avoid being bullied. According to experts, victims of bullying often feel distrustful of themselves and have less confidence. Most of the victims broke their own cause because of bullying that happens, they believe that the weaknesses and inefficiencies they have contributed to the reasons why they were chosen by the bully-bully. There are some victims who are still suppress their anger and revenge against the bully-bully and social environment that encourage and support bullying behavior. This anger, if not addressed, can cause victims to become bullies themselves against children, which can be categorized as a victim of bullying. While the other victims will show their anger through anti-social behavior such as stealing and vandalisma.
Bullying behavior can also impact the learning of children. To ensure the effectiveness of an education, children must be given an environment that can be considered as safe from physical, emotional and intellectual. Only when children feel safe and awake, they will have a more open attitude to knowledge, the only time they would try and learn, and only at the time they are more open to interact and engage with their teachers and friends their friends. When children feel that they threatened to or humiliated, they can not achieve their full academic potential...Socially, children who have become victims of bullying are often marginalized by their peers. This may be because they feel humble and it led to lack of confidence in yourself to make friends with others and socialize...In most cases, children who have been bullied may actually lack social skills to make friends with other children in comfort. Often, victims of bullying feel awkward to socialize with others, and this discomfort becomes severe when they bullied. It is a cycle that is difficult stopped by the victim where they have opportunities to interact with peers is another level because this level is important for their development...so bullied can causes bad effects it is important for all of use do something to prevent it...

Salam, thanks for my group member because comment in my part. Here, I want to add something about the effect of bully. If you have ever heard an adult or anyone else say that bullying is "just a fact of life" or "no big deal," you're not alone! Too often, people just do not take bullying seriously or until the sad and sometimes scary stories are revealed. So that, for your information, I just read this information at http://www.stopbullyingnow.hrsa.gov/kids/effects-of-bullying.aspx. So, enjoy your reading.
• It happens a lot more than some people think. Studies show that between 15-25% of U.S. students are bullied with some frequency, while 15-20% report they bully others with some frequency (Melton et al, 1988; Nansel et al, 2001).
• It can mess up a kid's future. Young people who bully are more likely than those who don't bully to skip school and drop out of school. They are also more likely to smoke, drink alcohol and get into fights (Nansel et al, 2003; Olweus, 1993).
• It scares some people so much that they skip school. As many as 160,000 students may stay home on any given day because they're afraid of being bullied (Pollack, 1998).
• It can lead to huge problems later in life. Children who bully are more likely to get into fights, vandalize property, and drop out of school. And 60% of boys who were bullies in middle school had at least one criminal conviction by the age of 24 (Olweus, 1993).

Salam,, you meet me again… here I want to share another information about effect of bullying. These effects are more toward to being the victim of bully. Students who have close ties with their parents or their guardians or who have overprotective parents or guardians are more likely to be victimized by bullies. Victims tend to be socially isolated, and may lack social skills and friends. Students who come from homes characterized by physical punishment tend to be more likely to exhibit these types of behaviors. To be effective, however, intervention must involve all parents/guardians (not just those whose children are victims of bullies) working in conjunction with the school community. Victims also tend to exhibit specific characteristics. They seem to have little anxiety and appear to possess high self-esteem. They are often anxious, insecure, cautious, and have low self-esteem. However, verbal abuse seems to remain constant throughout the school years. Long-term effects of bullying on victims include depression and low self-esteem.

Salam, Rashidah here… after all the comment here, I want to conclude about this part which is effects of bullies.
All of us know that bullies in school are one of the negative phenomena to the environment of member schools and directly involve the inability of students to obtain the optimum learning and teaching in schools. So that, the bullies of students can becomes negative effects that may affect the psychological development of children or teenagers. But as a normal human, we cannot avoid from these phenomenon’s especially the students. They are the one that always facing this phenomena. As a result, a lot of impact that affect the student lifestyle no matter she/he become the bullies or victim of bullies.
First of all, effect becomes the bully. Nowadays, children who bully another student will be more feared to another student. So that, they likely to engage in other criminal and anti-social behaviors such as vandalism, drops out of school, stealing, smoking when they are out of the school. Even though, bullies are sometimes viewed positively by their peers, they rarely are capable of maintaining close friendships. It is because their peer may be busy with the criminal activities and another student feared to close to them. Even as an observers of bullying which is students who see bullying happen also may feel that they are in an unsafe environment. So, they become fearful, powerless to act and guilty for not acting.
The bullies are also usually not doing well in school and not well liked by their teachers because of their attitude. And sometimes there have teachers that also feared to them. On the other hand, there are teacher that do not want to interfere these student activities and just let go them. So that, their examination result will down.
Besides that, bullying is a behavior that one of the first steps to become serious problems and criminal student. This is calling the long term effect. Some kind of intervention which takes place, the aggression of bullying often leads to more serious acts of delinquency and can become criminal activity. As a result, the bullies when adult, likely will become criminals and acting aggressive such as become a robbery, theft, and may be if the bullies become a corporate person, he may be become a cheater to his client or maybe he doing corruption to get project.

Salam,, Rashidah again, here I just want to continue what have just I wrote down at the comment about the effects of bullies. Besides the effect to who become the bullies, we also can see the effects being a victim. Actually, being a victim give more effect to the mental of the student. The stress from being bullied can create problems for children at school. They seem afraid to be in quiet place or attending school because afraid to being a bullied. The victim feels alone because their friend thinks they are weak. This situation will make the victim have more depression, self hate and prefer to stay at home from go to school because they worried about their security
This fear and anxiety can make it difficult for the child to focus and engage in the classroom and making learning that much more difficult. They often fear and worry every time they are at school. This makes them to engage in the learning process. Bullying behavior can also impact the learning of children. To ensure the effectiveness of an education, children must be given an environment that can be considered as safe from physical, emotional and intellectual. So, when children feel that they threatened to or humiliated, they cannot achieve their full academic potential. This makes their examination result will down.
As we know, victims of bullying often feel less confidence. They believe that the weaknesses and inefficiencies they have contributed to the reasons why they were chosen by the bullies. When they are lack of confidence level, they will let themselves be treated anything and become a severe person, willing to do something by felicitate others and so forth.
Extreme victims can develop depression or physical illness. Children bullied over long periods may develop symptoms similar to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including hyper-alertness and being easily startled or emotionally distant. Other characteristics may include self-isolation, mood swings and physical manifestations such as cuts or bruises.
For the long term effect, most victims of bullying may be can do well in school and are able to make friends are they grow older. Most victims, especially if they receive support from adults important in their lives, survive the experience of being bullied without long term effects. But not just a good side, in contrast for the bullied they will avenge the others. Sometimes, the aim to restore self-esteem is lost due to bullies. So, we as a human must know our responsibility to the society to prevent this phenomenon such as proverb “prevention is better than cure”.
